Notes from the Music Minister
As my time here at Grace moves forward, I must admit that one of my favorite parts of working here is the opportunity I have to write and do research on music and its place in religion. Perhaps I walk a little off the beaten path, because if you ever enter my office you'll see my "wall of Lutheran Research" hidden just behind the door, full of notecards with fun and interesting information about Lutheran Theology and its history with music. I am a book worm by nature and am proud of it! As a graduate student at the University of Northern Iowa, I use to spend great amounts of time preparing my research papers (some up to 40 pages long) and putting my thoughts and conclusions together in seamless prose. Being able to share these adventures into literature and the Bible with the congregation has been a wonderful experience.
In an effort to allow all members of our Great Lakes Community (and even those of you who may have missed out on previous installments) partake in my research, I have added this section to the website. You will find my research and some of the articles I have written for our monthly newsletter. You are always free to contact me about any specific article or just to chat about your own thoughts about music and religion. I am constantly updating my Blog and this website, so feel free to stop by often!
God's Blessings to you!
