Pastor Jami Goetz
Pastor Jami grew up in Buffalo Center, Iowa, spending summer weekends boating with his family on Lake Okoboji! He attended Wartburg College, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in religion in 2019, and Luther Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity in 2023. In the summer of 2023, he discovered that Grace was looking for a pastor, and was thrilled to accept their call, beginning his ministry in a community that was so near and dear to his heart.
As Pastor, Jami is passionate about preaching the Gospel message of God's abundant love, inclusivity for all, and living into the reality of the challenging yet surprising ways God shows up in our lives. He also loves building relationships, sharing in conversation, and journeying with others through life's joys and sorrows.
Outside of ministry, Jami has many hobbies and passions that keep him busy. He's an avid music lover, a percussionist for sixteen years and guitarist for seven. He loves exercising, and you can often find him biking or running on Spirit Lake's trails or lifting weights at the YMCA. He also loves watching TV and movies, playing video games, traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with his family, friends, and girlfriend Leah. Jami can't wait to get to know all of Grace's present and future members, and wants everybody to know that they are welcome at Grace Lutheran Church!

My husband Bill and I have lived in Sheldon for the past several years where we raised our family. We moved to Spirit Lake in November, 2024 and are really enjoying the lakes area.
We have two children - our son, Bryan, married to Kelli and their 2 children live in Sioux Falls. Our daughter Sarah and her husband John and their 4 daughters live in Sheldon.
We keep busy going to grandkids’ activities and spending time with family and in my free time I enjoy walking and biking.

Our family moved to Spirit Lake in 1994, and my husband’s family had been longtime members. We enjoyed the welcoming environment and have been members since. We have two children; Kyle married to Christy that live in San Francisco, and Kori married to Eric that live in Milford. We enjoy our time watching local sports activities and playing with our grand pups.

My family has been members of GRACE for the last 16 years. I started on the Council then worked in the office, handling the Support Ministries position after Covid. I now handle the technology, design, etc.
